Test Details: Adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene analysis, using the Next generation sequencing, helps in the identification of presymptomatic cancer or establishment of risk of colorectalcancer. Mutations in the APC gene give rise to familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and also occur in many sporadic colon cancers. FAP is characterised by numerous colonic adenomas; failure of recognition and intervention of which generally results in development of early-onset colorectal cancer.
