Skeletal Muscle Antibody (ASKA)
Test Details: This test is used for the diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis. Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune neurological disease, is characterized by muscle fatigue and inactivity, primarily in voluntary muscles. The Lab Test is to assess levels of abnormal antibodies in the serum of the patient. These abnormal antibodies are responsible for blocking receptor sites of Acetylcholine, a major neurological transmitter. The test is normally advised for patients with chronic fatigue, droopy eyelids, delayed muscle response and slow chewing.
