Test Details: This test is done to assess immunity against tetanus by determining levels of circulating antibodies to tetanus toxin or to measure the immune response, post vaccination, in individuals suspected of immunodeficiency disorders The test is used to determine the Tetanus antitoxoid Antibody usually after giving a booster dose. Assessment of an antibody response to the tetanus toxoid vaccine, which should be performed at least 3 weeks after immunization. Tetanus is an infection caused by bacteria called Clostridium tetani. When these bacteria enter the body, they produce a toxin that causes painful muscle contractions.
