Test Details: This test is conducted to detect the presence of Leishmania parasites or their DNA in tissue. Leishmaniasis is an infectious disease caused by parasites of the genus Leishmania that affect humans and other animals. They are transmitted by insects popularly known as sand flies. Samples are collected from lesions/ blood/ bone marrow/ liver, and then checked for the presence of parasite.
