Cardiolipin Antibody IgM
Test Details: Cardiolipin antibodies are the most common antiphospholipid antibody which target cardiolipins and are associated with an increased risk of developing recurrent inappropriate blood clots (thrombi) in veins and arteries, such as the deep veins of the legs (DVT) or the lungs (pulmonary embolism, PE). Cardiolipin IgG antibody test is done if there is any history of recurrent blood clot formation, recurrent miscarriages and in diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndromes. The persistent presence of IgG and/or IgM cardiolipin (CL) antibodies in moderate or high levels is a laboratory criterion for the diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS).
