Test Details: Gram smear is used to identify microorganisms in normal sterile body fluids, to screen biological specimens for presence of gram positive and gram negative bacteria and to guide initial antimicrobial therapy. It helps in detecting budding yeast cells with pseudohyphae among clinical specimens.
