Test Details: CSF protein test is a test to determine the amount of protein in cerebrospinal fluid. It is generally increased in all types of meningitis, cerebral infarction, brain abscess, meningovascular syphilis, subarachnoid hemorrhage, some brain tumors. A decreased CSF protein may occur in water intoxication and CSF leak.
