Test Details: Y chromosome microdeletion (YCM) is a family of genetic disorders caused by missing gene(s) in the Y chromosome. YCM is known to be present in a significant number of men with reduced fertility. This test aids in the detection of Y chromosome microdeletions associated with oligospermia and azoospermia. About 15-20% of azoospermic men and about 10% of severely oligospermic men present with microdeletions of Yq. This test targets 20 genetic loci.
