Test Details: The myeloproliferative disorder (MPD) also referred to as myleoproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are large group of relatively rare pathogenetically related diseases arising in the bone marrow. Polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), idiopathic myelofibrosis (IMF) are three most common of BCR-ABL negative neoplasms. Exon 12 mutations are typically found in PV patients who present with erythrocytosis. Screening of exon 12 mutations helps in identifying prognostically relevant clonal proliferation.
