Test Details: Delta thalassemia is a hereditary disorder characterized by reduced or absent Delta-Globin thus affecting the level of Hemoglobin A2, a minor component of adult hemoglobin monitored in the diagnosis of Delta-Thalassemia. Delta thalassemia is caused due to mutation in δ chain of hemoglobin. Defect in both δ and β chains together leads to δβ thalassemia.
