Number of Tests | 5 |
Test Included | Chromosome: 13, 18, 21, Sex Chromosome (X & Y) |
Test Details: FISH based test for aneuploidy detection on sperm cells is performed to evaluate the proportion of aneuploidy present in sex chromosomes (X and Y), autosomes (chromosomes 13, 18 and 21) in case of recurrent pregnancy loss. Association of both severe oligozoospermia and teratozoopermia with sperm aneuploidy is generally accepted. Macrocephalic, multinucleated, multiflagellated sperm appear to be at a very high risk for aneuploidy. Application of FISH-based screening test is recommended for investigating sperm aneuploidy in recurrent pregnancy loss cases to counsel couples for making informed decision.
