HLA High Resolution (A, B, C, DR, DP, DQ)
Number of Tests | 6 |
Test Included | HLA A, HLA B, HLA C, HLA DR, HLA DP, HLA DQ |
Test Details: Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) typing is of clinical significance in determining tissue compatibility or HLA matching between donor and recipient transplant patients and also in the assessment of disease associations. The International ImMunoGeneTics information system (IMGT)/HLA database is used as reference for HLA A, B, C, DR, DP, DQ typing. HLA A, B, C, DR, DP, DQ typing shows 100% specificity and 100% sensitivity. In sequencing, full gene is covered for Class I (A, B and C). For Class II (DR, DQ and DP) exons 2-4 are covered including the intronic regions in between.
Accurate HLA matching between donor and patient significantly improves overall transplant survival, reduces the incidence and severity of both acute and chronic graft versus host disease (GVHD) thereby, improving the rate of engraftment.
