Test Details: Dexamethasone suppression test measures whether adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) secretion by the pituitary can be suppressed. This test is done when it is suspected that your body is producing excess of cortisol. It is done to help diagnose Cushing syndrome and identify the underlying cause.

Pre-test Information
Collect Basal Sample (3ml Serum) on day one at 8 AM. Ask the patient to take 0.5 mg oral dexamethasone every 6 hours for two days. Collect Post Dexamethasone sample at 8 AM on 3rd Day. Test done as per physicians intructions. Consent form needed, tablet to be procured separately.
