P0013
Pap Smear (Conventional)
Test Details: The Pap test is a valuable screening test for cervical cancer and its precursors. It is used to evaluate cervical-vaginal specimen for premalignant, malignant and inflammatory changes of the cervix, endocervix, ectocervix, vagina and vulva. In a conventional Pap smear, samples are smeared directly onto a glass slide after collection, which further undergoes staining. Positive results should be confirmed with additional studies as clinically indicated.
