Test Details: The HLA-B*1502 allele is highly associated with the outcome of carbamazepine-induced Stevens–Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. The HLA-B*1502 genotype that occurs with varying frequency among Asians is recommended for screening prior to starting carbamazepine.
