Copper Oxidase (Ceruloplasmin)
Test Details: Ceruloplasmin is an acute phase protein and a transport protein for copper. It is decreased in Wilson's disease, an autosomal recessive disorder. Low levels may also occur in Menkes syndrome which is a genetic defect in copper absorption. High levels of Ceruloplasmin may be seen in copper toxicity , zinc deficiency, pregnancy, lymphoma, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation, etc.
