Sickle cell test is indicated in new-born screening, carrier screening in pregnant women, parents of an affected child. Sign and symptoms of sickle cell disease are fatigue, pallor, weakness, shortness of breath, chest pain, abdominal pain, swollen hand and feet, frequent infection, delayed growth and vision problems.
