Test Details: The HLA-B*15:02 allele is highly associated with the outcome of carbamazepine-induced Stevens Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. HLA-B*15:02 and HLA-A*31:01 are two alleles that have been associated with severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions (cADRs), including Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), when taking certain mood stabilizers.
