Test Details: Arsenic is a chemical naturally present in environment and found in water, soil and food. Arsenic occurs in organic form, which is harmless and inorganic form which is toxic. Arsenic is used in some pesticides and industrial applications. A wide range of signs and symptoms may be seen in acute arsenic poisoning including headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, hypotension, fever, haemolysis, seizures, and mental status change. As arsenic is excreted mainly by glomerular filtration, test for arsenic in urine is the most effective screening test to measure arsenic exposure. This test helps measure the amount of arsenic in sample of random urine.
